Waters Accell Plus QMA Carbonate Plus Light cartridges contain a silica-based, hydrophilic, strong anion-exchanger with a large pore size (300 Å) and a carbonate counter-ion. These cartridges are used for extraction of anionic analytes in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions when the chloride counter-ion in the standard Accell Plus QMA cartridges interferes with the analysis. These Light-style cartridges have a distinctive finned outer body and a reduced internal diameter, which results in an interstitial volume about one-third that of the corresponding Plus-style cartridge.
