Connect, Empower & Transform!
Neta Scientific hosted our annual National Sales Meeting February 5 – 9, 2024, at the Westin Mount Laurel in New Jersey. The Neta Team had an action-packed week with training, networking, and fantastic conversations. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Participation from our suppliers was at capacity, with 33 different suppliers joining us throughout the week. Gold and Silver sponsors had the opportunity to present their portfolios, sales strategies, and training to the Neta Team.
On Thursday, February 8, 2024, we hosted our Supplier Fair. The Supplier Fair provided an excellent opportunity for suppliers to meet the entire Neta team, present new products, and perform hands-on demonstrations of their products available to us in the Neta Scientific portfolio.
After the Supplier Fair, Corning Life Sciences sponsored our Networking Cocktail Hour, followed by our Awards Banquet. At this time, we recognized our supplier partners who have gone above and beyond and also recognized internal team members who exceeded expectations.
Penn Supplier Diversity & Inclusion Program
Neta Scientific, Inc. has been working with Penn for more than 15 of the 22 years the family-owned company has been in business. Garnetta Sanders, the business’s Co-Founder and CEO has been working beside her husband Winfred since the company was started. Garnetta is joined by her daughter Branetta Toatley, Neta’s Vice President of Fulfillment, as the women at the top of this business’s organization chart.
According to Garnetta, one of the reasons why this woman- and minority-owned business has succeeded is because of the company’s mission and its core values; integrity, mutual respect, flexibility, social responsibility, and innovation. “The mission has not changed since day one. We are constantly aware we want to dispel the myth that diversity suppliers cannot compete. It keeps us motivated.” Branetta added that the company employees also help the company stay on course. “They keep the energy level high and keep us focused.”
Garnetta Sanders - Boss Women
About a year and a half ago, Garnetta Sanders, the Co-Founder and CEO of Neta Scientific, Inc. and former educator, received a children’s book in the mail. It was called Boss Women – Seven African-American Women Who Built Their Company from the Ground Up. “As I flipped through the pages, there were all women in it, including a photo of me. Others saw the book as well. My friend called me to ask me to autograph her book for her 13-year-old daughter.” Garnetta said during a recent interview with Penn Procurement Services that the book left her proud to be part of something important. It was an awesome feeling.
Her daughter Branetta says she too realizes she gets to experience something not everyone can. “I am now living the dream, and my mother and I are running a woman-owned business. Anything is possible.”
The story of Garnetta and Branetta is only one of many accounts of women-owned companies that do business with Penn. We honor and appreciate all women business leaders. #womenshistorymonth
