Analyze VOCs in solid waste by EPA Method 8260 using our popular MegaMix calibration mix.
For an identical mix that does not contain pentachloroethane, see our revised mix (cat.# 30152).
Note: Vinyl acetate is a volatile organic ester included in the target lists of several US EPA and other methods. Under acidic conditions, esters react with alcohols to form new esters (transesterification). Methanol-based mixes containing halogenated compounds are slightly acidic, so it is important to minimize exposure of vinyl acetate to mixes of halogenated compounds in methanol. For this reason, we offer vinyl acetate in an individual solution (cat.# 30216) and suggest that it be introduced into the working level calibration solution immediately before use. This will minimize problems and ensure more consistent results.
