13(S)-HOTrE(γ) is an active metabolite of the ω-6 fatty acid γ-linolenic acid (GLA; Item No. ). It is formed from GLA by 15-lipoxygenase (15-LO). 13(S)-HOTrE(γ) is an inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO; IC50 = 29 µM for the rat enzyme).
